Fête de la Musique, also known as 'World Music Day’, is a free public festival celebrating music and arts each year on June 21st (summer solstice). Coinciding with the first day of the summer, this celebration took off in France in 1982 with Minister of Culture Jack Lang and after became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.
People are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighbourhoods or in public spaces and parks. Amadeus Electric Quartet had the pleasure to perform in Zaitunay Bay - Beirut’s finest leisure destination, in front of around 5000 people.
